Memorial Day is set aside to honor the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military, defending the ideas for which this country stands. One way to observe Memorial Day is to do something for those who have fought and those who continue to fight. Here are a few ways we can support our veterans and our troops:
- Send a Care Package to a soldier stationed overseas or provide other assistance. The Department of Defense website (www.ourmilitary.mil) offers ideas for supporting soldiers, veterans, and their families.
- Give Calling Cards or Gift Cards so soldiers can stay in touch with their loved ones. The Army and Air Force Exchange Service Shop (www.aafes.com) makes both available.
- Contribute to a Veterans’ Organization. The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (www.va.gov) provides a list of service organizations that need donations.
Memorial Day often inspires introspection. If you find yourself thinking about your financial goals and priorities, give us a call. We’re happy to talk with you!
